GATE Result Overview
The GATE 2026 exam result will be released and prepared by IIT Guwahati on their official or exam specific website. The GATE Result 2026 will be released on 19th March 2026 after the commencement of GATE examination 2026.
To download the GATE 2026 Result candidates have to login to the portal with their enrollment ID and password. Students must note that the GATE Result will be valid for the next 3 years.

GATE Cutoff
The GATE Cutoff 2026 will be based on the institution and branch one is applying for. To qualify GATE 2026 exam general category students need 25-30 marks out of 100, while reserved category students (SC/ST/PwD) need around 16-20 marks. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
GATE Counselling
The GATE 2026 counselling process will begin after the GATE exam 2026. The counselling process will be conducted on different portals for IITs, NITs, IIITs and other institutions. To participate in IIT GATE counselling 2026 candidates need to register themselves on COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal), while for other institutions candidates need to register on Counselling for M.Tech./M.Plan./M.Arch (CCMT) portal. The detailed GATE 2026 process is mentioned below.
- Register on the COAP or CCMT portal as per your preference.
- After registration, you will have to fill the choice of programs and colleges in order of priority within the GATE 2026 counselling portal.
- Participate in multiple allotment rounds and finalize your preferred seat by paying fees and reporting to the college.
Candidates must note that there can be separate portals for some institutes and PSUs. Students are highly encouraged to visit these portals regular for latest updates and dates.
