In 2025, the KCET exam was conducted on April 15, 16, & 17, 2025. Approximately 3,11,991 students appeared for the exam, and 2,75,677 students qualified. The overall difficulty level of the exam was considered moderate. The expected KCET cutoff 2025 for the general category is around 50%, and for SC, 42%. What is the KCET Exam?

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state-level entrance exam that is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It offers admission in programs like Engineering, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Diploma in Pharmacy, Agriculture courses, and Veterinary courses across Karnataka state, conducted once a year. The KCET 2025 syllabus includes Mathematics/Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. The KCET exam pattern includes 180 questions, with each session containing 60 questions, for a total of 180 marks, which have to be solved in 80 minutes per session. The mode of the exam is offline (Pen-paper mode), and no negative marks are deducted for wrong answers, and a +1 mark is given for each correct answer.

In the year 2025, around 3.31 lakh students registered for the exam to get admission, of which 3.12 lakh students appeared for the exam.

KCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Students are required to fulfil the KCET 2025 eligibility criteria to participate in the exam.  To be eligible for the exam, students must have passed 12th grade or equivalent in any stream and must be a citizen of India. B.Arch

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. 
  • Candidate with a minimum of 45% marks in a diploma in pharmacy from a PCI-approved institution, and 40% for the reserved category
  • To be eligible, candidates must have a valid score in the NATA exam.

B.Pharm

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or a diploma in Pharmacy from a Pharmacy Council of India-approved institution.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% in Physics, Mathematics/Biology, and Chemistry, and 40% for the reserved category.


KCET 2025 Application Process

How to apply for the KCET 2025 application?

  • Visit the official KCET exam website kea.kar.nic.in and click on the ‘KCET 2025 Registration’ link.
  • Generate the login ID and password for future access to the portal, and start the registration process.
  • Fill in the academic details such as Class 10th, 12th, and personal details, and upload your recent passport-sized photo and signature in the specified format.
  • Complete the registration fee via credit card/debit card or net banking.

The result of KCET 2025 is published based on the KCET 2025 answer key and board marks entered. The result contains the candidate’s personal details, scores, qualifying status, and others. KCET Counselling Process 2025

Step 1: KCET registration and document verification

The candidate must verify the required documents at the counselling centre. They must carry all the documents with their original and photocopies. The documents will be verified by the authority, and if the documents are correct, the candidate will be given a slip with ID and password.

After the document verification, the candidate needs to log in with the given ID and password. Then, they will have to fill out the preferred college and courses in order of preference. The candidate can make the changes in addition, rearrange, or modify their choices before the final date.  The candidates can check the course-wise, category-wise, and college-wise seat matrix released by the authority at the time of choice filling.

Step 3: Seat allotment

The candidate can check the seat allotment, which will be released on the official website. They can log in with their ID and password to download the KCET seat allotment letter. The candidates can change their choices and check the allotment status. The KCET 2025 counselling includes two rounds of allotment, with a second extended round and a special round. They can download the provisional allotment letter and take a printout.

Step 4: Reporting at allotted institutes

The candidates with their respective allotted institutes can report to their institutes to confirm the admission within the stipulated time. They are advised to carry all the required documents during the reporting, along with the KCET counselling allotment letter to the institute.

KCET Exam Cutoff 2025

The KCET 2025 cutoff will be released by KEA after the KCET results are announced on the official website.  After the result declaration, KEA will start releasing its KCET cut-off percentage.
