NEET EWS Cut Off 2026: FAQs

Ques: What is the NEET EWS expected cutoff for 2026?

Ans: Depending on the initial analysis of the May 2026 exam, the NEET 2026 exam is moderate to tough, with a difficulty level that is similar to NEET 2025, though some suggest that the exam was slightly more time-consuming or complex in Physics.

Ques: Is 150 a qualifying mark for NEET?

Ans: Yes, 150 is normally considered a qualifying score for the NEET UG exam, as it often fulfills the minimum 50th percentile requirement (roughly 130 - 150+ marks for the general or UR category). However, this makes students eligible for counselling, but it is not enough for MBBS/BDS seat admission, which needs much higher scores (500 - 600+).

Ques: Is EWS valid in NEET?

Ans: NEET UG 2026 focuses on strict central reservation rules for the 15% AIQ seats. Only OBC-NCL and relevant EWS certificates are accepted. State policies are applied only to the 85% State Quota seats. However, invalid documents can be cancelled in admission even after joining the college.

Ques: Is EWS better than OBC?

Ans: The exam cutoffs determine whether the economically weaker sections (EWS) are better than Other Backward Classes (OBC) and this often fluctuates. While the EWS normally provides a lower cutoff than OBC in most competitive exams such as UPSC, OBC offers a 27% quota as compared to 10% for EWS.

Ques: Can students get MBBS with 400 marks in the NEET 2026?

Ans: It is not easy for the students to get a government seat with 400 marks in NEET. The private colleges might still be an option through the management quota, counselling rounds, and deemed universities or state quota admissions in some states.
