The Maharashtra Health Sciences and Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell for admission to undergraduate courses in colleges across Maharashtra. 

Every year, around 7 lakh candidates register, and 6.5 to 7 lakh candidates appear for the exam, making it one of the most competitive entrance tests in the state. MHT CET scores are accepted by over 300 institutes, providing students with wide opportunities in engineering and pharmacy education. In 2026, around 11.46 lakh students had registered for MHT CET 2026, which was seen to be the highest ever registration.

According to the official statistics, a total of 1,16,540 applicants had registered for the MHT CET 2026 PCB second attempt exam. From these, 95,831 students had appeared for the exam, which led to an overall attendance rate of  82.06%. In the 2nd attempt, 4 students have scored percentile in the PCB group. The stats for the PCM stream had not been announced yet.

MHT CET 2026 Syllabus

CET cell has published the MHT CET 2026 syllabus online. The syllabus for the PCB group depends on Physics, Chemistry and Biology of classes 11th and 12th and for the PCM group, it depends on Physics, Chemistry and Maths. 80% of the questions in the exam depend on Class 12th topics, while the rest 20% of the weightage is provided for Class 11 topics.
