What is the MHT CET Exam?

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, also known as MHT CET, is a state-level entrance test to select applicants for admission to UG engineering and pharmacy courses at different colleges throughout Maharashtra. The exam is conducted each year by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. The difficulty level of the MHT CET exam is similar to JEE Mains.

The MHT CET 2025 examination will have 3 papers/sections of 100 scores each, Paper 1 of Mathematics; Paper 2 of Physics and Chemistry combined, and Paper 3 of Biology. Applicants willing to join the Engineering course should appear for Paper 1 and 2. Students of pharmacy courses should appear for Paper 2 and 3.

MHT CET Application/Registration Process 2025

The MHT CET 2025 application process begins with login credentials, followed by application details, and the exam fee. The admit card and exam information are provided by email or SMS soon after registration. The Maharashtra State CET has opened the facility to modify and correct/modify the details in MHT CET application form. To access the MHT CET application form correction window, the applicants have to log into their account  using registered email ID and password. After login, the applicants will find three new links under the important link menu for MHT CET form correction.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 2025

As per the exam pattern of MHT CET, the question paper will be set with 20% weightage to class 11 topics and 80% weightage to class 12 topics. The exam will be held online as a computer-based test and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be 3 question papers,

  • Paper 1 of Mathematics - Total 50 questions. A total of 10 questions from the class 11 syllabus and 40 questions from the class 12 syllabus. Every question will be of 2 marks. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
  • Paper 2 of Chemistry and Physics - Total 100 questions. The physics part will have 50 questions and the rest 50 from Chemistry. Out of 50 questions in every subject, 10 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 40 will be from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
  • Paper 3 of Biology (To be appeared by only Pharmacy applicants) - Total 100 questions. A total of 20 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 80 from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.

MHT CET Answer Key 2025

The MHT CET 2025 was published on May 22, 2025. The answer key of MHT CET 2025 was published on May 17, 2025. Applicants can check the answer key by login to the MHT CET official website cetcell.mahacet.org. The objection facility for PCB group was active from May 19 to 21 whereas for PCM group, answer key challenge window was open from May 22 to 24. Out of the total objections raised by the applicants, the following objections were found to be right:

  • Physics: 7 objections were accepted.
  • Chemistry: 4 objections were accepted
  • Mathematics: 28 objections were accepted
  • Biology: 1 objection was accepted
