NMC Adds 4,201 New PG Medical Seats in Private Colleges for NEET PG 2025–26The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 4,201 new PG medical seats in private medical colleges for the 2025-26 academic year. The sanction was completed through the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB). The rise has broadened the opportunities for NEET PG candidates nationwide with the addition of more than double the seats. The total tally of NEET PG seats in India is now 7,324; earlier it was 3,123.
The authorities further confirmed that counselling bodies can use the published seat list immediately. They do not need to wait for Letters of Permission (LOPs). However, the LOPs are under process, but the released list is valid for NEET PG 2025-26 admission counselling. If any discrepancy is found, MARB has asked institutions to report it by 5 December 2025.
Is This the First Time MCC Revised the Seat Matrix?
No. As the counselling process for NEET UG and NEET PG is going on, the chain of seat revisions has not been stopped at both the national and state levels.
