NMC Approves 125 Additional PG Medical Seats Following Appeals by Medical College
NMC Approves 125 Additional PG Medical Seats The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 125 additional NEET PG seats in 22 medical colleges. The decision comes after the authority reviewed appeals filed by colleges. This will directly impact NEET PG counselling for the 2025-26 academic session. The addition comes as a relief for NEET PG aspirants.
The assessments are conducted by Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) under provisions of the NMC Act, 2019. The approval followed after this assessment only.

NMC Additional PG Seats 2025–26: What Has Been Approved?
Medical colleges submitted appeals challenging earlier decisions related to PG seat allocation. After examination of these appeals, the First Appeal Committee cleared 125 new NEET PG seats.
MCC has directed that the approved list of seats will be considered a valid document for NEET PG counselling. Concerned state authorities do not need to wait for Letters of Permission (LoPs) from colleges.
